Memorial Weekend 2014 - Upper Peninsula of Michigan

Gary, Randall, and I spent the weekend in Munising, MI.  It was our intention to take a cruise to see the pictured rocks but unfortunately even though it was 80 something degrees there were too many ice flows for the boat to do the cruise.  We were fortunate that we were able to drive over to the park and got to see some of the view.  In addition, we drove to Marquette sightseeing and had a lot of fun with the various views including people laying on the beach sunning with ice flows right at the sand line.

Pictured Rock Park.  Ice flows in the background which caused the boat not to be able to do the tour.

Well pump, hadn't seen one of these since childhood visits to Virginia.  I don't think Randall had ever see one.

Some people will do anything to get a little sun, including loungingn on the beach with ice right at the sand-line.  Temperature was 80 degrees.
